It is always sad to say goodbye to a console after the end of its cycle, but it is more so in recent times because its role as multimedia hardware with support for different applications and services makes the farewell longer. Perhaps, one of the saddest cases is that of Wii U and although it is a fact that the console is still in force because of the little support it still has, little by little it is running out of it and it seems that the next turn is for the use of YouTube from the browser.
According to a report by GoNintendo, YouTube will stop working soon in the Wii U browser although there is still no defined date for this to happen. According to the warning made by a user of the site, when accessing YouTube from the Nintendo console, the system informs the user that the support will end soon, although it is still possible to watch all kinds of videos.
In that sense, it should be taken into account that the difficult situation that the console went through during its life in the market has caused the support of applications and services to end faster than other platforms, such as Wii, which said goodbye to YouTube until June 2017, with Wii U discontinued and Switch on the market.
Despite this, it should also be recognized that Wii U still has support for the digital content offered in the Virtual Console and there is still an occasional indie release on this console.
