Rumors of the third installment have been present during 2021.
Throughout these years it has been possible to see how Nintendo sagas that were considered niche have been attracting a larger audience, thus going from not exceeding one million sales to being one of the best-selling titles. Examples of this type can be found within the hybrid console, Nintendo Switch, the most notable being the case of Fire Emblem, which has had its best-selling installment with Fire Emblem Three Houses.
However, the case of Fire Emblem began to occur on Nintendo 3DS, in any case Switch being responsible for others such as Xenoblade Chronicles, the praised saga of Monolotih Soft, Nintendo’s own studio, which came to Wii in its day and was crowned as one of the best RPGs of its generation, if not the best depending on who you ask.
Since then we have been able to see Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the Torna expansion, and Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition have all been commercial successes., thus bringing together three great titles on the hybrid console in the absence of Nintendo announcing the port of Xenoblade Chronicles X. However, the third numbered installment may be closer if possible.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would arrive in late 2022 or early 2023
According to Nintendo insider NateTheHate, the third numbered installment of Xenoblade Chronicles would already have a launch window, Nintendo plans to launch it sometime in 2023 and even at the end of 2022. According to this same insider, the COVID19 pandemic has affected development, so that Monolith Soft is currently solving technical problems with the game.
With all this, it seems that Nintendo once again trusts the Japanese studio with its flagship saga, which has practically gone to a game every two years, being, in this way, considered one of the best studios in the company, especially when carrying out its planning in developments.
Having said all this, we must add the fact that there are many indications that we will see this third numbered installment. Without going any further, the voice actress Jenna Coleman, who gave voice to Melia, hinted that she had been called for a project.
