Basically since Xbox emerged in the year 2001has not been well received by the public, this is because many trusted that microsoft could have its own console for homes. And one of the regions that has most refused to purchase its products is Japanthis despite the countless attempts to have some approach to said public.
Even last week the company traveled to the land of the rising sun to show some games that will reach GamePassthis thanks to the event of Tokyo Game Show in his edition of 2022. And now according to the weekly magazine of Famitsuit is revealed that the brand in its little more than 20 years of existence has managed to sell barely 2.3 million consoles in the region.
This is what he commented sarah BondCorporate Vice President of Game Creator Experience and Ecosystem at Xbox Regarding his insistence on entering the Japanese market:
We have been on this journey for a long time and we are not giving up.
We are committed to both the depth and breadth of titles found on our platform, and that is exactly how reputation is built. We see that game creators are more willing to take risks thanks to Game Pass because they actually know that they are going to be better able to find an audience. Someone will fall in love with something that isn’t necessarily such a big brand, but is a really lovely player experience.
When we were talking about the Xbox One launch, there are a lot of things about that launch that we know we didn’t get right. It’s taken us a long time to learn from our mistakes and really apply that and start building our hardware, our product line, and our relationships with creators.
For now, they say they are looking for new strategies to address this market, which is why they are gradually adopting Japanese RPGs such as the series Person that will come to the consoles in a fucking way. That means, they want the sales of Xbox X/S-series be something flashy and therefore a moderate success.
