The summer break of the WRC ends with the Acropolis Rally dispute, a date of great toughness in which some of the most outstanding episodes of the World Rally Championship have been written. In his return to the category, the Greek appointment has entered the second instance calendar, although that does not affect the enormous challenge they face the 54 crews that will start the Greek event. Between the inscribed, a total of eleven World Rally Cars, nine ‘Rally2’ cars within the WRC2 category and nineteen more ‘Rally2’ in WRC3. M-Sport also has room to show off ‘Rally3’.
The entry list for the Acropolis Rally is headed by Sébastien Ogier, as WRC champion. The Gap driver leads the Toyota lineup, which they are in as usual Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanperä and Takamoto Katsuta. There are also no surprises within Hyundai Motorsport, since the South Korean firm has already announced that Craig Breen would be the driver in charge of getting into the third Hyundai i20 WRC Coupé as a complement to Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak. As usual, Pierre-Louis Loubet he completes Hyundai’s driver roster, even if he competes with the private 2C Compétition team.
In fact, the main novelty is in M-Sport, as the team has three Ford Fiesta WRCs in Greece. Gus Greensmith and Adrien Fourmaux pilot the two official units, while local ‘gentleman driver’ Jourdan Serderidis to compete with a rented unit. In addition, the Cumbrian coach is keeping his bet on WRC2 with the presence of Martin Prokop, even if Teemu Suninen is no longer part of M-Sport. With everything, the silver category has in Mads Ostberg, Andreas Mikkelsen, Nikolay Gryazin or Oliver Solberg, the latter with the new Hyundai i20 N Rally2, its greatest exponents and favorites to victory.
The list of entries in WRC3 is also interesting. Besides the leader Yohan rossel, in the Greek sections there will also be Kajetan Kajetanowicz, Chris Ingram, Emil Lindholm or Alberto Heller. The bronze category also has a Spanish representative, since Miguel Díaz-Aboitiz returns to action with Diego Sanjuan. Other proper names are those of Paulo Nobre or Fabrizio Zaldivar. In addition, it is worth noting the presence of two units of the Ford Fiesta Rally3 in the hands of Molly Taylor and the local Nikolaos Ziovas, among other things because it is the only exponent of this new category that will soon have new manufacturers involved.
