Director David F. Sandberg has confirmed the end of production on the sequel to Shazam !, the hilarious movie that premiered in 2019.

While we wait to get a first look at some images (probably a behind-the-scenes teaser) of Shazam! Fury of the Gods next month at the DC FanDome, the director David F. Sandberg has officially announced that the production of the sequel to Dc comics is over.

Last week it was reported that filming had finished, but it was a bit premature, as Sandberg still had some shots to do.

The filmmaker shared a first look at the Shazam Family in their redesigned costumes in June, so we were hoping he had something else to show us after filming was over. For now, we’ll have to settle for an image of the clapperboard and the movie logo, as well as the following image that Sandberg posted on Instagram.

The director of Fury of the Gods, David F. Sandberg, has confirmed the end of filming in a post on Twitter, sharing a photo of a clapperboard. “And that’s an ending!”.

The sequel to Shazam! will count on the return of Zachary levi as the titular superhero, alongside Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Meagan Good as Darla, Ross Butler as Eugene, Grace Fulton as Mary, DJ Cotrona as Pedro, and Adam Brody as Powered Freddy. They will be joined by Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu as the villainous daughters of Atlas.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods will hit theaters on June 2, 2023.

We will see other DC Comics movies first.

While the second Shazam! will not arrive until 2023, a solo film, Black Adam, is scheduled for July 29, 2022. Black Adam stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the most spectacular antihero of Dc comics, who was the wandering champion of the wizard Shazam, granted the powers of the gods before Billy Batson entered the scene.
