The Croatian-Canadian surveying engineer Hrvoje Lukatela <\/b>discovered Point Nemo in 1992. He did so using a computer simulation, calculating the location of the maritime pole of inaccessibility. His name is in honor of Captain Nemo, the character in the novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, by French writer Jules Verne.<\/p>\n
