Windows 11 has already seen the light and has provided a huge breath of fresh air to the design of the operating system. Microsoft has spared no resources when it comes to revamping numerous components, including the File Browser. However, there are not few users disappointed by this latest redesign, who expected something more “aggressive” and, especially, the much-sought-after tabs. According to this mysterious leakMicrosoft may be considering hearing your prayers.

Will tabs make it into Windows 11 File Explorer?

We have to talk about this leak with extreme caution, since it is part of a new Twitter account without any type of personal information or more tweets than those that we attach below. It seems clear that the account has been created solely and exclusively to carry out this filtration (or deception, if your intentions are not good).

There will be tabs in File Explorer. Not soon, but there will be. Have patience. #Microsoft #Windows # Windows11 pic.twitter.com/9uDGcS3trM

The funny thing is that the first images that this user has shared They are photographs to the screen of a PC, not screenshots (so they are much more complicated to falsify, although far from impossible). This is the message that accompanies the tweet: There will be tabs in File Explorer. It won’t be soon, but there will be. Be patient.

The user seems to be pointing out that the tabs will not reach the Windows 11 File Explorer during this first version but they could arrive later (with Windows 11.1 or even Windows 12). If anything, it seems to be meaning that Microsoft is exploring this possibility.

Several details stand out from the shared captures. The first is the design of the tabs, which is obvious that it does not match at all with the modern Explorer interface. The user himself is aware of this and, in the subsequent tweet, he has inserted a screenshot that looks like a recreation of how these tabs would look with a design more in line with the style of Windows 11.

There is another detail that could indicate that we are facing a real leak. The New Mica Material effect seems to be applied on more surfaces than in the current Explorer. Specifically, we see it around the address bar and in the left sidebar.

And you, what do you think of this leak? Do you think Microsoft is really exploring this concept or do you think it is a “joke” of this mysterious Twitter user?
