One of the biggest hits in the mobile gaming industry was <\/span>Pokemon<\/b> GO!,<\/b> application that moved the world a few years ago to celebrate a great anniversary of the franchise. However, little by little it has lost its initial relevance and its creators, <\/span>Niantic<\/b>They have had to cut staff and cancel projects to save resources.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company based in <\/span>San Francisco <\/b>laid off between 85 and 90 people and canceled four games in development, including a spin-off of <\/span>transformers<\/b>. The middle <\/span>Bloomberg<\/b> informed that the CEO of the company, <\/span>John Hank<\/b>, Sent an email. In which it informs the current state of the corporate and that after the efforts to reduce costs, <\/span>Niantic<\/b> it still needed to further optimize operations to cover different economic needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other supposedly canceled games include <\/span>Hamlet<\/b>a planned collaboration between <\/span>Niantic<\/b> and the theater company <\/span>Punchdrunk<\/b>also <\/span>blue sky <\/b>Y <\/span>Snowball<\/b>. In a statement, a spokesman for <\/span>Niantic<\/b> confirmed the news of the layoffs and explained that they plan to continue supporting <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon GO!<\/b> and his other games:<\/span><\/p>\n

We recently decided to stop production on some projects and reduce our workforce by approximately eight percent to focus on our key priorities. We are grateful for the contributions of those who leave Niantic<\/strong> and we are supporting them through this difficult transition.<\/span><\/p>\n
