Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the Wonder Woman suite on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Comic-Con in São Paulo, CCXP. In addition to the return of actress Gal Gadot as Diana Prince, Chris Pine is also back in “Wonder Woman: 1984” as Steve Trevor, the lover of the superheroine. The film will be released in French theaters on June 3, 2020.
You may be wondering how Chris Pine can be back, given that his character probably died in the first movie “Wonder Woman”, but the trailer gives a big clue as to how he could be back more 60 years later and stay young. Here’s the trailer, if you haven’t seen it yet:

Between a few references to comics, and an appearance of the invisible jet of Wonder Woman, INSIDER invites you to discover the details that you may have missed in the trailer for “Wonder Woman 1984”:
It seems that the invisible jet of Wonder Woman makes an appearance in this sequel.
About 90 seconds after the trailer begins, we see Diana Prince and Steve Trevor in what appears to be an airplane. This may be a taste of the iconic Wonder Woman jet.
In 2018, Gal Gadot was seen filming scenes where she was restrained by wires, which suggests that she would be seen inside the character’s invisible vehicle.
Above, you can see how DC exposed the plane at Comic-Con in San Diego in 2016 for the superheroine’s 75th birthday.
We finally have a better look at Wonder Woman in her golden suit, a nod to a look that comes straight from the comic.
Wonder Woman wore the gold suit for the first time in 1996 in issue 3 of “Kingdom Come”.
The costume was created in Themyscira, Wonder Woman’s home island, so expect to see her return there. The combination, made of pure gold, allows it to resist fire, explosions and other attacks, and its wings allow it to fly.
In a panel at CCXP, Gal Gadot said that, if she found the costume beautiful in a mirror, ” it’s not comfortable ” to wear.
Pedro Pascal, actor from ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Mandalorian’, plays Maxwell Lord. Who is he? One of the two villains we will see in the film.
In comics and TV series, there have been several variations of the character of Max Lord. He is usually a wealthy businessman or entrepreneur. More recently, the character has been assigned psychic mind control abilities that fuel people’s desires. One has the impression that he is perhaps behind the return of Steve Trevor in the film.
Steve Trevor is back, but how? The answer can be found in a small replica of the trailer.
The most confusing part of the “Wonder Woman 1984” trailer is the return of Steve Trevor.
He would have died at the end of “Wonder Woman”, released in 2017 and which takes place in 1918. Even if he miraculously survived the explosion of the plane (which is unlikely), Steve simply cannot to appear not to have aged in more than 60 years.
There is something fishy. Is it a trip back in time? Is Steve real or just a vision?
In the first half of the trailer, we hear the voice of Maxwell Lord who says: “think of finally having everything you always wanted”, while we see a picture of Diana’s face.
As soon as Steve and Diana are reunited, Maxwell Lord says, “Now, I take what I want in return.” The scene in the trailer suggests that Diana is making some sort of deal with Maxwell Lord in order to recover Steve. It is not something she would selfishly do.
Since we know that the character of Maxwell Lord can control the spirits in the comics, he could do something to persuade Diana, without knowing it, to give in to her desire to see Steve in exchange for something that is probably bad.
Diana Prince seems to fly thanks to lightning. It’s a reference to comics.
As noted on Twitter, we have already seen the character ride lightning in the comics. After all, she is the daughter of Zeus.
Kristen Wiig doesn’t just play Diana’s friend. She is actually one of Wonder Woman’s biggest enemies.
The character of Kristen Wiig, archaeologist Barbara Ann Minerva, will eventually transform into Cheetah.
According to director Patty Jenkins at CCXP, they used a lot of special effects to bring the character to life, but it looks like they will also be using digital special effects.
Diana visited a ranch that appears to be named Steve Trevor.
Look carefully at the photos Diana keeps in memory of Steve. One of them shows it in a photo at “Ranch Trevor”. Did Diana visit Steve’s family or buy a ranch to which she named her lost love?
Diana is referring to her future position in the field of art.
At the end of the trailer for “Wonder Woman 1984”, Diana shows works of art to Steve, and he confuses a trash can with one of them.
As we have seen in previous films, Diana Prince becomes an art curator at the Louvre in “Batman vs. Superman”.
