It is no secret to anyone that during the pandemic the dynamics related to the search for a partner and the expansion of social circles led many to migrate to digital platforms, which allowed a growth in the exposure of dating applications such as Tinder, Bumble and Inner Circle. Now, transferring these scenarios to Colombia, From the Bumble application, quite particular data was released on the preferences of Colombian women.

Initially let’s start talking about Bumblewhich unlike other dating applications has as a plus that it is the women who in any scenario initiate the conversation, which from the outset gives an unusual tint to the dynamics on this type of platform, which mostly allows men to start conversations, even without the need for acquaintances matches.
Now, moving to the Colombian scenario, the country is the fourth in Latin America with the most active people on dating applications, which makes meeting “that special person” thanks to technology, increasingly common.

How to succeed on dating apps?
According to data collected by Bumble, 78% of Colombian women stated that they have always or almost always started a conversation on Bumble, but it all starts with defining what is being searched for. Here, intentionality and clearly expressing what you want is key.
Along the same lines, the survey also identified what makes a profile attractive. Among the aspects that Colombian women look at the most are: have several photos and that they like what it transmits in them (43%), that they like their profile description (28%), and that they have their basic information and complete interests (19%). On the contrary, 35% indicated that photographs where people are not clearly distinguished is one of the factors that makes them rule out that person.
