Indeed, for every 100 pesos that married men earn from their work, women earn 108.5 pesos, that is, 8.5% more than men.

On the other hand, married or unionized workers earn an average of 15.1% less than workers in said conjugal condition.

As widows, separated or divorced, the condition does not change much, because for every 100 pesos that men earn, women only earn 88.9 pesos.

Empowered professional, but underpaid boss?

In the field of professionals and technicians, women earn more than men in any marital condition. But the gap is higher when they are widowed.

However, when targeting the positions of officers, directors and bosses, the pay gap benefits men. Well, for every 100 pesos that a man earns in this position, a female director earns just 82.26 pesos.

The situation improves a little when the women are single, since the gap closes at a ratio of 86 pesos of income for every 100 pesos earned by a male manager.

And widows receive almost the same amount as them, in leadership positions (99.41).
