Hisense has been trying for a couple of years to introduce the concept of “Laser TV”, a system of ultra-short throw projection with which to generate large format images using a screen with rejection to ambient light for users looking for a system of home theater and big screen TV (between 100 and 120 inches) but who do not want or can opt for a conventional television.
It is a very interesting proposal for rooms where there is a certain control of the light and to which another member is now going to join, since the manufacturer himself has presented and published on video what will undoubtedly be one of the most striking products of next season in this sector: a version of the Hisense Laser TV with roll-up screen and cabinet with all-integrated hi-fi sound system.
Announced in the “Global Laser Display Technology and Industry Development Forum”, as we can see from the images we are facing an all-inclusive team which is integrated into a generously proportioned piece of furniture designed to occupy a prominent place in the living room.
Although the full specifications have not yet been provided, since the display has a 77-inch diagonal it is expected that the total width of the cabinet around 2 meters, so it is not something that can be installed for good in any average home without doing some remodeling in the decoration.
However, we are before a projector with triple laser light source We suppose that it has similar features to the current models of the manufacturer recently put on sale, that it is embedded in a beautiful wooden structure and that it supports native 4K resolution with HDR and reaching 107% of the BT.2020 color space with a maximum brightness of 350 nits, which will allow us to use it even with some ambient light but not near a bright window.
As we can see in the video, the screen rolls up and hides completely in the cabinet, which allows us to hide it while not in use, reducing the possible dirt that tends to accumulate on this type of projection surfaces.
But without a doubt what I liked the most about Hisense’s proposal is that they have opted for incorporate a hi-fi sound system in the cabinet, which has enough space to house a set of 6 Harman Kardon brand drivers with power of 150 watts RMS track compatible DTS, DTS: X and Dolby Digital.
Although no further details are known about this system, presumably it may be supplemented with more speakers rear and with a subwoofer for a decent home theater set.
Price and availability
Of course, as usual in these presentations still price data and sale dates have not been made public, although we assume that the equipment will not be exactly cheap and that it will even require transport and special installation given its dimensions.
