From the hand of an old interview to Eiji Aonuma Recovered by the DidYouKnowGaming channel, another one of those moments has emerged that confirms that working with Miyamoto should not be easy at all: they had to hide the aspect of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker from him.
“If I had gone to talk to him from the beginning I think he would have said, ‘How can that be a Zelda?’
The interview, which appeared in the mid-2000s, made it clear that Miyamoto he was embarrassed by the way he looked link in the The Legend of Zelda GameCube and that he even told Aonuma that it was not too late to modify the development and aim for a more realistic Zelda style.
Although the idea with Wind Waker was to aim for a style that followed in the footsteps of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask by improving its graphics -a bit along the lines of the video with which they presented the console-, finally the design of one of the artists pleased the team so much that they decided to change completely the visual focus of the game.
Miyamoto was not the only one who opposed a link of cartoons behind a console that had put the honey of realism on the lips of all fans of the saga, but over time Toon Link It ended up becoming an emblem for the franchise and its style was applauded for its bravery and originality.
