When Willow Ufgood’s adventure ended, not even Warwick Davis himself imagined that this character’s story could one day continue. Lucasfilm has prepared a new mission for this brave sorcerer and soon we will be able to accompany him with the series Willow for DisneyPlus.
Production details of the series Willow for Disney Plus
In 1972 George Lucas conceived the idea for the film, inviting Ron Howard to direct it when he was working on Cocoon. This time, it was Jonathan Kasdan who approached Howard about making him a part of the project. His participation in this series is as an executive producer, alongside Jonathan Kasdan and Kathleen Kennedy. Although Jon M. Chu was originally attached as director, production delays caused him to drop out of the project. The same thing happened when Jonathan Entwistle came on as his replacement. Finally, the direction of the 8 episodes that make up the series was divided between Stephen Woolfenden, Jamie Childs, Philippa Lowthorpe and Debs Paterson. Kasdan is also credited as a writer, along with John Bickerstaff, Julia Cooperman, Bob Dolman, Hannah Friedman, and Wendy Mericle.
