The Mandalorian is just a few months away from releasing its third season. However, it looks like this would be the last in the Disney + series.
Disney has reaffirmed in recent years to be the giant of giants in the entertainment industry. It began by buying some television channels, then famous production companies, then going on to eliminate all possible competition. In this way, his financial muscle only grew exponentially, having the best franchises in his possession, exploiting them to the fullest. Marvel studios was one of the first, followed by Lucasfilm. As the first product of the latter with the platform Disney +, born The Mandalorian.
The series was the first live-action in the universe of Star wars. The show was so well received by audiences and critics that many considered it a good reality that the studio has teamed up with ‘The House of Mouse’. Such positive comments came after some short time after the bitter release of episodes VII, VIII and IX of the galactic saga. These did not totally convince the followers.
However, The Mandalorian assembled a ‘pool’ top-level directors and, under the command of Jon favreau and Dave Filoni, the show was successful enough to renew for a second season. Also, this part was so shocking to many that it only increased the hype even further. The appearance of Luke Skywalker in the end as a new mentor of Grogu (Baby yoda) woke up more than nostalgia.
The future
Immediately Disney he noticed this and wasted no time in using it to his advantage. As part of the sequel, a spin-off titled The Book of Boba Fett, scheduled to launch in late 2021.
For its part, a third fraction of The Mandalorian, but for some development details, the production company decided not to publish it in the current year, but at the beginning of 2022.
Although not much is known about it, some cast members have dropped some ‘pearls’. For example, one of them left open the possibility of seeing the death of Grogu at this stage. Furthermore, the insider Jason ward, who is a specialist in Star Wars and he is rarely wrong about it, he commented that there will be no more seasons after this one.
