WhatsApp is the messaging app with the most users, with two billion accounts in the world.
Meta’s platform already delivers one hundred billion messages a day.
There are only 25 countries in the world where WhatsApp is not the most used messaging app.
WhatsApp has become the most essential communication platform for people in today’s world and that is why the Meta application continues to launch new updates on this opportunity on its keyboard to improve the experience of its millions of users.
We can define instant messaging as a form of communication that uses technology to instantly send messages to people anywhere in the world. With the advent of the internet, many platforms focused on this format have emerged, such as the most used on the market such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Messenger.
According to data from the platform itself, in its latest estimates WhatsApp registers two billion users, the highest number and only Facebook Messenger, from the same creators, comes close.
For its part, among the other environments that register as this format is Telegram, which since its launch in 2013, has not managed to harvest such a large number of users and according to its figures are 500 million users.
New changes
After launching various updates so far this year, WhatsApp by Meta continues to work on including new features that improve the user experience with the application on its emoji keyboard.
The information disseminated by WaBetaInfo records that with this new format users will be able to have greater comfort when accessing emoticons and the possibility of sending high-quality images.
According to the portal that shares official information on the platform, this version is being tested for Android, so it is not yet available to all users, but only to those who have the beta application.
It is not yet known when these functions will be officially launched, but details of how they will operate and the benefits they will bring to the messaging platform have been revealed.
It is reported that the changes in the emoji keyboard, WhatsApp is redesigning this section from where you have access to all the emoticons, so some interface elements were relocated, such as the GIFs and stickers tabs are located in the upper part and the subgenres of the emojis in the lower area.
Likewise, it was announced that the most important modification is to allow users to expand the keyboard by sliding up and thus see all the options in full screen.
With this, the platform wants to present a better organization for these interaction options, increasing the size of the keyboard up to three times to make it easier to search for emoticons than it is currently done.
Other changes that this same update includes are the adjustments in Communities, which arrived on the platform at the end of 2022, as a different way of having group chats to target ads and limit the interactions of the participants.
So in this test version a section called ‘Community Settings’ was added, which allows administrators to decide who can add groups to the community. The portal explained that this new setting will be by default in the ‘Community administrator only’ option, but it will be possible to change it so that members have the power to add their own groups.
WaBetaInfo also added that high-quality images will be possible with this update, and it will help photo submissions work better and content will not lose quality.
For this to be possible, WhatsApp will place a button at the top of the options menu and when the user presses it they will see that an options panel will open in the lower area to choose between: standard quality and HD quality.
These changes are added to others that are already being applied on the platform, especially updates from other platforms such as Instagram and Facebook that have also made significant changes to their functions.
