Take note! The National Development Plan “Colombia, World Power of Life” included the creation of the program Citizen Incomewhich was proposed by the National government, approved by the Congress of the Republic and is managed by Social Prosperity to carry out the distribution of benefits. The main purpose of this subsidy is to provide sufficient income to households that are in a situation of extreme, moderate and vulnerable poverty, with the aim of satisfying their basic food needs, achieving economic independence and having access to the fundamental rights of health and education.
The program was implemented in the 466 municipalities that have been identified as priorities on the extreme poverty map. In addition, larger amounts of money will be provided to households that have children under the age of six and who reside in high-priority areas. Families from Antioquia, Bolívar, Córdoba, Valle del Cauca, Atlántico, Santander and Nariño have already been favored.
How to enroll in Citizen Income?
To receive the subsidy, interested persons will be required to update their information on the Sisbén website, so that the Social Prosperity department can determine the next beneficiaries. At present, the families that registered for the fourth phase of Families in Action are being attended. The Government’s priority objective is to combat extreme poverty.
Citizen Income: registrations were suspended
The Department for Social Prosperity issued a statement announcing the temporary interruption of the registration process in the Transit to Citizen Income program, with the purpose of preventing co-optation by politicians of any orientation. How much is the Citizen Income payment amount?
Transit to Citizen Income seeks to guarantee that participating families have a decent income above the poverty line. Delivers up to 1 million pesos every two months, according to the conformation of the household, the Sisbén group, territorial prioritization and compliance with the co-responsibilities of the program.
When did the Citizen Income start to be paid?
Social Prosperity began on Saturday April 29 with the delivery of the transfer from Transit to Renta Ciudadana.
