The Social Protection Program for the Elderly – “Colombia Mayor” seeks to increase protection for the elderly through the delivery of an economic subsidy for those who are homeless, do not have a pension, or live in extreme poverty .
And the value of the financial aid from the Colombia Mayor Program is eighty thousand pesos ($80,000) for all beneficiaries nationwide. According to the DPS, the last payment of the program was on January 10, 2023, however, it has already announced a new date to make the payments for January and February of this year.
When do they pay for Colombia Mayor 2023?
To know the payment dates of Colombia Mayor, the digital platforms must be reviewed, which indicate that, since last Wednesday, December 21, the payment of this subsidy, corresponding to cycle 12 of 2022, was available.
However, the National Government has reported that they will continue to provide subsidies during this year to assist those who need it most. In this sense, Prosperidad Social has reported that next week it will begin the payments corresponding to January and February 2023 through SuperGIROS.

Older Adult 2023: Requirements to access the subsidy
To qualify as a beneficiary, it is necessary to meet the following criteria:
- Be of Colombian nationality.
- Have lived in the country for the last ten years.
- Be at least three years younger than the age required to receive an old-age pension (currently 54 years for women and 59 years for men).
- Not having enough income or income to cover basic subsistence expenses.
Where to collect and how much is the payment of the Elderly?
The elderly beneficiaries of this program in Colombia can collect this subsidy of a unified value of eighty thousand pesos ($80,000) in the banking networks, previously programs by the Social Prosperity entity and with the municipal or district mayors’ offices. On the other hand, in the city of Bogotá, the beneficiaries of the program also receive an additional amount, jointly financed by the district, in addition to the aforementioned subsidy.
