The Vallenato singer, Poncho Zuleta, aroused controversy on social networks, after a video circulated in which he sent a very special greeting to the presidential candidate, Gustavo Petro, and his son Nicholas.
“Nicolás, Nicolás Petro, you say hello to your dad … the arepa has already turned over … Nicolás, the arepa has turned“Were his words on Twitter, which began to be a trend. These took place last Friday, September 17, during a concert that the Guajiro artist offered in Barranquilla and in which the son of the political leader was also present. “The teacher Poncho Zuleta says it, the arepa turned!”, Replied the latter.
Similarly, Petro did not take long to speak through his Twitter account, where he assured: “I receive your greeting, Poncho. Thank you, yesterday I spoke in Valledupar with the teacher Santander Durán. The arepa turned around, now the culture is really”.
The debate took place because, remember, the Colombian artist, known as the ‘Golden Lung’, followed Álvaro Uribe Velez in the presidential elections of 2018, when the candidate for the Democratic Center was Ivan Duque, and became known as one of Petro’s detractors, precisely in that contest. However, in the face of his recent assertions, there is uncertainty on the part of several users, and so far the singer vallenato has not spoken again.
WHEN ZULETA WAS DECLARED URIBISTA “HASTA LA CACHA”:
One of the episodes that were put on the table dates back precisely to 2018. At the end of March of that year, during a concert in Achí (Bolívar), Zuleta refused the request of the municipal president, who He had asked him to encourage the public present to vote for the former mayor of Bogotá. This is because, according to the artist, he was a faithful follower of Uribe, and whoever voted for Petro “is crazy”:
“Mayor, don’t ask me to vote for Petro, I’m a uribista to the hiltLong live damn Duke … Whoever votes for the other is crazyThey are going to Venezuela to starve, God help them ”, he energetically stated.
Petro did not take long to respond to the artist, and stated in the municipality of Sahagún, Córdoba: “Poncho, the most important thing is not to have farms with paramilitaries. The most important thing is the culture and art of Colombia. Go back to your people, who love you! ”.
Faced with the term “crazy”, the presidential candidate downplayed it, and stressed that the most important thing was to highlight that kind of music, which highlights Colombian art. “Let ‘Poncho’ Zuleta tell me crazy, I don’t care, even the music of the Zuletas will be converted into the National Symphony Orchestra format so that everyone can hear their songs and their music, because that is the culture of Colombia ”.
“If Poncho Zuleta continues to support Iván Duque, the Badillo and Cesar rivers will dry up and those lands will become a desert, and the minstrels will not have anyone else to sing to, but the coal owners, who no longer live in Colombia but in Miami and New York ”, concluded the politician in the middle of his speech.
Uribe and his “difference” between two candidates:
On Saturday night, former President Uribe sent a message through his social networks in which criticized two presidential candidates, on which he did not give their names; although it is believed that it would refer to Gustavo Petro and Alejandro Gaviria.
“A difference between two candidates, the one it would end sectors of the private company those he hates, manifest hatred, with expropriation threats. And the other would return them inoperative with excessive taxes as we saw in a government in which he participated ”. he asserted.
