Today we cannot understand real-time communication without this platform that revolutionized the way we communicate instantly. In the past, those of us who lived through the birth of these fast messaging platforms knew about Blackberry Messenger, which was already a revolution, but WA began to offer the possibility of transmitting videos, images, voice messages and video calls.
More and more we see businesses or establishments that offer customer service through this platform with very positive results, although so-called bots are incorporated for already programmed responses, this is a highly effective solution, since what the consumer wants are answers fast that meet your needs.
According to a report from the “ThinkImpact” site, WA has more than 2 billion users and more than 100 million messages are displayed daily.
In May this year WA announced that it will increase the size limit of files to be sent from 100 MB to 2 GB and increased the number of users in a group to 512 members.
Another platform that emerged a few years ago, but with less reach, is Telegram, a platform that some have considered more secure due to end-to-end encryption of messages, created on August 14, 2013 by brothers of Russian nationality Nikolai and Pavel Durov. Initially it was created for IOS systems and later for Android, Windows, MacOS and Linux. At the beginning of this year, this platform exceeded 700 million users globally.
Telegram offers unlimited storage, this means that all your text messages, multimedia files will be saved in the cloud. You can log in and out the number of times you want from any number of computers simultaneously, without losing any data, you don’t need to worry about making backups or restoring information. You can view the sessions actively and see which computer is logged in at the moment. So you can upload either a document or an audiovisual file at any time.
Currently, a single file with a maximum of 2GB can be uploaded. There is no limitation on the total number of files that can be uploaded. Users can choose to compress the image or video, or send the uncompressed version in order to maintain quality.
A group on Telegram can have up to 200,000 members, while WA as mentioned above has a limit of 512.
Something that is also interesting about the Telegram Platform is that to connect with someone you only need the user, without having the other person’s cell phone number, which ensures the privacy of the contact without having to reveal the phone number. WA will likely update your system with this option.
There is also the “Secret chat” “Secret chat”, a type of end-to-end encrypted message in which it can be programmed with a defined time, the conversation is deleted or disappears, which is difficult for this to be hacked by a stranger .
As far as WA is concerned, its use is friendlier, any young or elderly person can use it without any complications.
One of the features of WA is that you can share your location, this can be in real time for 15 minutes, 1 hour or up to 8 hours.
All conversations in WA are end-to-end encrypted, this means that the messages are safe and nobody outside the conversation can have access. Even the WA itself cannot access the messages if it wanted to. If you are resource constrained by data usage, WA allows you to reduce data usage for calls without compromising call quality.
As we see, both platforms have their advantages and disadvantages, the importance is how I can communicate better, considering the number of users where WA is much larger than Telegram, but the latter has security features and the ability to send files. My recommendation is to have both, since on occasions we have suffered WA crashing due to some technical problem, Telegram being the relay option.
