Slowly the WhatsApp team continues to improve its UWP app for Windows 10 and Windows 11. The instant messaging service has been around for a few months working in its renewed application and every week we are seeing changes and additions. In this case, the update shows an important performance improvement when we use the light theme.
WhatsApp fixes performance issues with light theme
One of the problems main features in the new WhatsApp application was its performance. Using the application with the light theme we could notice how the application worked very slowly, with very slow animations, causing excessive CPU consumption in the Desktop Window Manager (DWM)
With the latest update, version 2.2207.2.0, WhatsApp Beta now gets a perfect performance with the clear theme. In previous updates they integrated the dark mode, which, unlike its light mode, worked correctly. We hoped that future updates would tweak the light theme to fix its performance, and finally so it has been.
You also have to highlight that the performance improvements don’t just stop there. At a general level we have noticed that the general performance of WhatsApp it has improved with this update regardless of the theme used.
The WhatsApp team is gradually updating the app based on user feedback on Windows 10 and Windows 11. We’ve already seen the addition of a new dark theme and new cosmetic tweaks over the past few weeks. The app is becoming more and more competent and we hope that the developers continue with their motivation so that we can enjoy an application that is up to the task.
