In the midst of such a scenario, the name of WhatsApp is one of the most featured since its launch in 2009; an instant messaging application that, With more than two and a half billion users, it has positioned itself as the leader in its field.
However, despite the fact that it has the largest number of registered users, the competition -such as Telegram- is growing in the same way and adding followers over the years. In fact, last year, Pável Duróv’s platform managed to reach 700 million users globally and, with various strategies and updates, it has managed to establish itself within the market.
Let us not forget, furthermore, that according to data collected in a Sensor Tower study, WhatsApp is, as of today, one of the three most downloaded mobile applications on both iOS and Android devices; Telegram, according to such a study, is located in the seventh position.
WhatsApp improves its desktop version and comes with this novelty
Although it is true that WhatsApp leads the field of instant messaging mobile applications, reality dictates that, in terms of marketing digital, it is about “renew or die”, a sentence that, without a doubt, became a kind of battle cry for a large number of companies in the midst of the health emergency.
Now, as part of an even bigger expansion plan, WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has a new tool ready for its desktop version. The idea, according to what has been made known through WABetaInfois that, now, users will be able to share images in HD format, as was recently announced for the apps.
According to what is mentioned in said portal, sending photos in HD is optional, which means that, in addition to sending images in high definition, Internet users will be able to continue using the standard compression method.
Now, a few days ago, Telegram released its latest updatewith which it added a total of 10 functions, including a real-time translator (for users premium) and improvements in various sections, such as the profile photo and others.
In short, social networks are already a great ally at a time when the digitization process is advancing after the great explosion that came with the health emergency.
