The most important turning point of the prequel trilogy and, probably, of the entire saga of starwars, is the moment when Anakin Skywalker decides to go to the Dark Side of the Force.
Palpatine seduced the one destined to be the Chosen One of the Jedi Order to become his disciple and lead the Sith in their fight to destroy all members of the Jedi in the universe.
The moment of conversion occurred when Mace Windu discovers that the Senator is leading the Sith and engages him in a duel to the death. There, Palpatine seems to give in, looking for Anakin to defend him. Skywalker cuts off Windu’s arm, who ends up falling to his death.
That event definitely led Anakin to the Dark Side, becoming Darth Vader, a student of Darth Sidious, but he did so because of the Sith leader’s promise to save Padmé Amidala’s life. Unfortunately, this was a ruse by Palpatine and Padmé dies, filling Skywalker with hatred.
The rest is history. Anakin confronts his Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and ends up submerged in Mustafar’s lava. He was saved by Palpatine and ends up taking on Vader’s suit.}
But, What would have happened in the Star Wars universe if Anakin had saved Windu and killed Palpatine? A theory of ScreenRant answer this concern.
End of the Sith
The clearest impact of Anakin choosing Mace Windu over Palpatine is that he would immediately comply the Chosen One prophecy and would destroy the Sith instead of joining them as Darth Vader.
The latest Star Wars trilogy, 7-9, made it clear that Darth Sidious was always the man behind the Sith and that his death would spell the end for the villains. Canon indicates that he can come back from the dead, but his resurrection labs were created after he became Emperor, that is, in the middle of Revenge of the Sith.
Anakin and Padmé, destined to stay together
With Palpatine’s death, his influence over Padmé’s body, and Anakin’s choice of the Light Side They would keep Skywalker’s great love alive, the twins Luke and Leia would be born and would remain destined to be together. But what about the Jedi code?
It would be a problem for Anakin to explain his secret marriage to Padmé, but being the Chosen One and destroying the Sith, he could negotiate his terms to remain a member of the Jedi Order.
Under that premise, the proud parents would raise their children, Luke and Leia, probably away from anything to do with the Jedi for a time until the Order discovered their potential in the Force, preparing for future threats.
without Palpatine, perhaps another face would have emerged to represent the Sithor probably the separatists they would stand against the Republic and its allies. They would have somehow filled the space left by Darth Sidious in the hypothetical case that he died in Episode III, but the truth is that things turned out differently and all because Anakin Skywalker chose the Dark Side.
