The first public tests of Project xCloud, the cloud video game service of Microsoft that brings Xbox One to any mobile, tablet or screen, began in the United States, United Kingdom and South Korea at the end of last year. The arrival of Project xCloud in Spain was recently confirmed, although unfortunately Project xCloud has not yet arrived in Mexico as well as other American countries (beyond the United States and Canada). Today we want to offer you some brushstrokes about what is known and what you need to know about Project xCloud, the code name of the Microsoft service that aims to revolutionize the gaming industry in the cloud and that promises the quality of an Xbox One on portable devices or with a screen.
What is Project xCloud?
xCloud is a cloud gaming service that hosts all your video games available on remote servers and allows you to access them as long as you have an internet connection. The result is a feeling of playing a title installed and loaded on your device, without interruptions of any kind. Best of all, Project xCloud does not arrive to replace to the Xbox family of consoles, but to complement them. Microsoft believes that this platform caters to a different type of audience and that it is the perfect companion for Xbox One and for Xbox Series X and S in the future.
Launch Project xCloud
After a few months of testing in a few countries around the world, xCloud is ready for its leap to Europe. It will be from May 2020 when Microsoft starts sending out invitations to the Project xCloud preview on Spain and other European countries, although for now the trial version will only be compatible with Android devices. For now, there are no details on when the preliminary version of the service could arrive in Mexico and other Latin American countries.
Likewise, the final version of Project xCloud is still has no confirmed release dateas the trial versions must continue to be rolled out to more countries before moving on to the final version.
How does xCloud work?
Project xCloud uses Azure, a Microsoft service created to build, manage, and run applications and services through the company’s data centers, through the cloud. Thanks to this, xCloud is possible, which allows you to play a multitude of Xbox video games by streaming through any mobile device, which makes it possible to do without televisions, consoles and cables. With xCloud technology it is possible to play your favorite video games with the highest image quality wherever and whenever you want, as long as you have an internet connection.
