The darkest moments can bring out the worst demons in people. At least that was what we saw in the first season of yellowjackets, one of Paramount Plus’s biggest hits. In it, a group of young people survive a tragic plane crash. However, being survivors did not mean being safe. Left in the middle of nowhere, everyone had to resort to their baser instincts to find a way to survive. And while not all of them made it, season 2 of yellowjackets It will allow us to delve even deeper into those mysteries that remain unanswered.
Betrayals, secrets, forbidden romances and inexplicable events marked the first episodes of this series. And facing the premiere of the new season, it is time to point out those questions that left the public wanting more. Will the truth of these chaotic women finally be discovered?
Who is behind Natalie’s kidnapping?
From what we have seen in the trailer, much of the mysteries of yellowjackets, season 2, will revolve around Natalie. The character, in the adult version of her, has discovered something very important. This became evident when Natalie and Misty entered Travis’s house, and found the note that the latter wrote before he died: “Tell Nat she was right.”
But, reason about what? Although, at the time, Natalie told Misty that she didn’t know what she meant, there are indications that she was able to investigate something related to the many secrets of the past. Add to that the fact that a group with strange symbols kidnapped Nat in the season finale… well, there’s clearly something hidden with her. Will her discovery be linked to her kidnapping? Who could be in danger from it?
What happened to Shauna’s baby?
Shauna’s pregnancy was one of the most attention-grabbing topics in the first season. She found out about her condition after the accident, and considering the time she spent drifting along with all the other youngsters, she must have given birth at some point. Years later, in the current timeline, Shauna has a daughter… but 16 years old. Doing the math, the baby she was carrying at the time of the accident should be 25 years old, but there is no trace of him.
The most extremist theories assure that she was a victim of cannibalism given the terrible conditions in which they were all found. However, some cast members have assured that this was not her final destination. So what happened to Shauna’s son? Surely, the new episodes will reveal a heartbreaking moment in his life.
Is Javier still alive?
While the girls were going through an episode of collective psychosis after eating magic mushrooms, Javi ran away from them for fear of what could happen. However, it was the last time we saw the character played by Luciano Leroux. The next day, Travis began looking for him, but there were no conclusive search results for him.
The current timeline didn’t show the character, and in fairness it sounds unlikely that his death was deliberately left offscreen. Is he still alive and is this matter where Natalie was right? Or could it be that one of the girls had a hand in her death? Place the bets on her!
Taissa’s altar
One of the characters who was most disturbed after the events was Taissa. The end of the first season let us see that the senator candidate had a very special altar. His elements of her? The head of the dead family dog, Sammy’s (her son’s) broken wrist, and a heart (possibly human).
Immediately, many viewers assumed that this supernatural invocation could be behind its political results. But… what if that altar has other uses? Let’s remember that Taissa and Shauna have strange behaviors during their sleepwalking episodes, so it’s not entirely clear if it was the result of something conscious or not.
Who was Adam?
In theory, Adam was just a young artist Shauna was having an affair with. However, she murdered him, believing that he was the author of the threats that promised to reveal what happened many years ago. Once it was discovered who the real author was (Jeff, Shauna’s husband), more doubts began to arise.
Some say that Adam was Javi, however, the creators of the series denied the theory. On the other hand, it should be noted that Adam had an important weight in the first season, which aroused suspicion. A mere stranger wouldn’t get that much screen time, would they? Most likely yellowjacketsseason 2, surprise the audience with a revelation about this character.
Did Travis really commit suicide?
The third episode of the first season shocked viewers with Travis’s suicide. However, little by little details about his possible outcome were revealed. Lottie emptied Travis’s bank accounts shortly after he “took his own life.” Furthermore, Misty discovered that the candles under his corpse formed a certain symbol. As if that were not enough, that same symbol was found on the altar of Taissa. What is the connection between all these elements? One theory suggests that Travis’s suicide is part of a larger plan, however, some say that Travis’s death was perpetrated by someone else. Or is there something that no one has noticed?
