Talk about phone cameras involves immersing yourself in a subject in which there are safe options, such as those of Apple and Samsung that cost large sums of money, and in which there is also room for teams that boast features that look high-end without being aggressive with the pocket, as is the case with alive Y53s.
A few days ago we were invited to test the camera from alive Y53s in a destination characterized by its colors and lighting: Quetzalcoatl Park, in the State of Mexico.
Meeting in the greenhouse the key details were shared with us. Y53s is a team that recently arrived in Mexico and that among its main attractions is a rear camera from 64 megapixels, accompanied by a bokeh 2 megapixels and a macro also 2 megapixels.
The frontal camera have 16 megapixels and vivo emphasizes that it has algorithm technology that helps to get good selfies even in the dark.
The first thing we did was test the eye autofocus system of the front camera, designed so that a face stay focused having as a reference the eye that the user chooses, the left or the right. We were able to verify that, in effect, the camera remains fixed on the face of the person who is posing, based on what has been chosen; However, we must point out that it is a function that is accessed not immediately, but by entering the settings, which can translate into wasted time when taking a photo.
This note is not free, as the next feature we put to the test was the 2 megapixel bokeh, translated in the mode “Blur” accessed from a tab called “Glasses” which is directly on the screen when the camera is activated, in the lower right corner of the frame.
Beyond the discomfort that the eye focus has not been placed at hand, we were able to verify that the “Blur” mode gives the possibility of focus the detail on the object of choice and blur the rest of the image, which in turn opens the door to play with blueprints.
Live representatives said that images taken under this mode may be edited later to change the object in focus, although we could not verify this.
The next mode we tried was “Macro”, also at hand inside the tab “Glasses”, and here we must admit that we were surprised, because the images we took gave an account of the detail that can be captured from objects that are placed at a distance of approximately 4 cm.
Despite the little time we had to test this mode, we imagine that it will be one of the favorites of those who upload nature or nearby objects to Instagram.
The next stop was a cave with minerals on display, where the low light became the ideal pretext to try the night mode.
On this point our conclusions are found, since the images obtained presume enhanced colors and high contrasts And they lend themselves to interesting experiments, but the intensity of the light that hits the objects cannot be minimal – as so much is promised – for the mode to work. But we insist, even with this inconvenience, we loved the images we obtained.
Finally we did tests of rear and front camera with natural light and it was clear to us that alive Y53s It is a device that is worth paying attention to, especially if you consider that its price is 7,500 Mexican pesos.
But we clarified that it was not possible to do strenuous performance tests, since we only had the equipment for the time that the visit to Parque Quetzalcoatl lasted, focused exclusively on the camera.
