Zara Home premieres a new collaboration with the Studio Nicholson of the London artist Nick Wakeman. A collaboration that has resulted in some blankets which are a good example of the brand values: simplicity and quality.
This collaboration has also meant the opportunity to sneak into the beautiful house that its founder has in East London. A house that once again reflects the same concepts already mentioned (that is, simplicity and quality) that are shown in the studio’s collections.

The house with two heights and a central part of the living room with double heightIt’s like a white box. Its walls, ceilings and windows are painted in a warm white to make it as bright as possible and to highlight its best qualities. In this case, ceiling height and the beauty of natural wood parquet, with a matte finish that reveals its numerous natural knots.
With natural wood, present on the floor but also in many pieces of furniture such as tables, chairs and custom-made shelving, other materials such as leather and the mesh of its Cesca chairs stand out. The large gray sofa and the absence of color have just given a masculine result (and masculine is understood as the serious tones and the crudeness of the materials without ornaments).
Being large spaces, despite having all the necessary furniture to enjoy a comfortable house (the living room has a large dining room, a large living area that includes a divan or a beautiful vintage-style display case and an open and spacious kitchen, the result is a minimalism which, in this case, is elegant and masculine. In fact, the true value of it results from the sensations that it transmits thanks to the wood and the design of its furniture.

In the kitchen, the bar instead of being a breakfast area, serves as a support for the sofa. A good way to distribute an open space. Wood details abound in it (shelves, countertop, floor…).
In the dining room, the Cesca chairs coexist with a vintage walnut sideboard and Vincent Van Duysen’s leather armchair for Zara Home.
