Today, Viola Davis, after winning a Grammy at the ceremony, has become one of the few artists in the world to be part of the EGOT list.
EGOT is a term originally created by actor Philip Michael Thomas at the end of 1984. This refers to those artists who have been able to win at least one award of each (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) during their artistic career.
Only a few have been able to be part of this select group that recognizes the best of cinema, music, theater and television. The current list includes fewer than 20 people, including names like Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, Alan Menken and Jennifer Hudson.
Viola Davis wins a Grammy and joins the select list of EGOTs
The actress Viola Davis, famous for her participation in the audiovisual media, has just been crowned at the Grammys and entered the select list of artists who have been awarded the four most important awards in their industries respectively.
In her speech, the artist thanked her family and dedicated this book to the Viola of her childhood: “I wrote this book to honor the 6-year-old Viola. To honor her, her life, her happiness, her drama, it’s all been one hell of a ride. I am an EGOT! ”, She said in her speech, adding“ Thank you to everyone who has been part of my story ”.

Thus, Viola achieves at 57 years of age, wins a Grammy for her book Finding me, which is added to her other awards: Oscar (2017), Tony (2001, 2010) and Emmy (2015), respectively.

The Grammys, in its 65th edition, will have one of its most important presentations in history. This is because it will have the presence of a great diversity of world-class artists, from Adele, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, Mon Laferte, Wet Leg, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Abba, Coldplay, Rosalía, BTS, Doja Cat, Jorge Drexler, Fito Páez, Los Tigres del Norte, Harry Styles, Måneskin and Taylor Swift, among many more.
The transmission of the event that will begin for Mexico at 7:00 p.m. will be broadcast in Latin America for the TNT channel, although it can also be followed from the live broadcast of HBO Max.
This edition will feature the presentation of comedian Trevor Noah, who is known worldwide for his participation in the newscast ‘The Daily Show’. Likewise, it will have the presentation of some artists such as Lizzo, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Sam Smith, Kim Petras, Harry Styles, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Chris Stapleton, Jay-Z and DJ Khaled.
