He highlights that video games keep children motivated and the fact that they enjoy what they do allows them to become more involved in the lessons, something that influences a better retention of information. Also, it is a good way to start learning a new language.
Regarding the concern of parents for not knowing how to balance digital life with the real world, Vélez comments that the elderly should make an effort to understand the platforms and games their children are on.
“Most of the games are focused on entertainment, but parents must show that there are fun games that allow them to develop these skills,” he mentions and adds that the elderly must also be educated to direct children and that screen time be useful.
