Good news for gamers switch who are also Steam users. Valvethe American video game company, is working on the development of the support so that titles of Steam with the Joy-Con controls.
The Joy-Con or the Joy-Cons are the controls of the Switch, highly valued by gamers who love mini-games, fighting video games, among other types of games. Now, if you also use Valve’s service, you can have fun with this control.
According to a report on the website of TheVerge, the company is perfecting the support of the Joy-Con and is testing it in the latest beta version of Steam.
The report adds that the Joy-Cons Will be supported individually or as a matched pairsimilar to how you can use them, in any way, for Nintendo Switch video games.
How to test the Joy-Con on Steam?
If you want to try out the Joy-Con feature on Steam, you can subscribe to Steam Client Beta. The official website of the service explains the step by step in the Mac version;
- With Steam running, click on “Steam” in the top left, then choose the “Settings” menu.
- In the “Account” tab under “Beta Participation”, click the “Change…” button.
- Select the “Steam Beta Update” from the drop-down list and click “OK.”
- You will be prompted to restart Steam, select the “Restart Steam” button.
Valve is also improving its support for the classic Nintendo controllers it sells to Switch Online subscribers, though in the beta patch notes, the company didn’t specify exactly how.
The feature was introduced to the public version of Steam last week and allows for the use of controllers from NES, SNES, Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis consoles.
Steam also supports DualSense controls PS5 and the controls of Xbox.
