4 TikTok: users can now choose who can send them private messages

A recent survey reveals that 41 percent of TikTok users are young people between the ages of 16 and 24.

  • Today, with more than a billion and a half users worldwide, the Chinese social network is one of the most popular on the market.

  • In 2021, TikTok became the most searched website on the web, even above Google, Facebook, among others.

Through an update, now, TikTok users will now be able to choose who can send them private messages, this being one of the most important modifications of the platform.

The Chinese social network that, during the pandemic, became fashionable among younger users, continues to demonstrate that, beyond being a space for sharing short videos, it is a content platform that can boost the brands themselves.

It is known that, to this day, the platform developed by ByteDance already registers more than one and a half billion active users worldwide, even ranking above Instagram, which, in some way, is its direct competition.

Now, not only that, because, according to a report published by Cloudflare, the social network originating from China was in 2021, the most popular site on the internetsurpassing giants like Amazon, Google, Facebook, among many others.

Although it is true that, to this day, it is not the social network with the most registered users, we are talking about one of the most popular, mainly among the young people of the so-called Generation Z.

A recent report from globalwebindex indicates that the Chinese social network has a preference of 41 percent in users between the ages of 16 and 24In other words, the so-called Generation Z is the one that shows the most interest in the platform developed by ByteDance.

TikTok: users can now choose who can send them private messages

TikTok continues to be updated over time, a fact that has made it one of the most relevant social networks and, in addition, one of the most effective positioning platforms for brands.

Now, as part of a strategy that seeks, above all, to provide greater security to users, TikTok is taking a new turn in the messages section, now allowing Internet users themselves to decide who (or who) you can send them direct messages.

To do this, according to what has been revealed, the ByteDance platform has placed some options: everyone, suggested friends, mutual followers, people to whom you have sent messages or no one.

Undoubtedly, it is a measure that aims, as we already mentioned, to offer greater security to users and, perhaps in a special way, to content creators, thereby preventing hate messages and other subsequent messages from being sent through of your platform.

And it is that, despite the fact that social networks have a great influence on users, reality dictates that, through these spaces, it is possible to access all kinds of messages that, on many occasions, violate the user experience, especially the younger ones.

In fact, the issue of minors attached to social networks is one of the most worrying for the companies themselves.

By your side, Instagram, as a security measure for its users, plans to use Artificial Intelligence to learn personal data from Internet userssuch as your age, to mention an example.
