He also said the United States “condemns” North Korea’s launch of more than 20 missiles and criticized Pyongyang’s “reckless decision” to fire a missile near South Korean territorial waters.
In an interview with the press, Kirby said that Washington is currently seeking to determine whether the North Korean military aid was actually received by the Russians.
“We do not believe that the equipment (Russian President Vladimir Putin) receives or will receive” is a game changer on the battlefield, the security adviser said.
In addition to North Korea, the United States accuses Iran of supplying drones to Russia and said it is “concerned” about a possible delivery of Iranian surface-to-surface missiles to the Russian military.
“Obviously we will work with our allies and partners in the UN to see what additional sanctions can be applied” against these two countries.
