The marketing of the new Hyundai IONIQ 6 in Europe is drawing near. The South Korean brand advances in the launch strategy by announcing the technical specifications of the different versions that make up the range of this electric sedan, one of the most efficient on the market.
It was unveiled early last summer. The second model of the new range of electric cars from the South Korean giant was presented as one of the most aerodynamic in the world, tightening the screws on the most direct competition with a sedan with avant-garde features and advanced technology. These are some of the qualities of new Hyundai IONIQ 6to which are added those now revealed for the model with European specifications.
And it is that those of Hyundai could not offer technical details of electrical energy consumption or the specific autonomy according to the homologation of the WLTP cycle, since the new IONIQ 6 was still carrying out its last road tests. Then they announced that the new zero-emission sedan had been designed to offer category-leading maximum autonomydropping a figure beyond 600 kilometers but without specifying.

Now, the South Korean manufacturer has already announced the specific figures of what it calls “Full electric range”, that is, the maximum autonomy available with a single charge and in the two capacities of the lithium-ion battery that will be offered, of 53 kWh and 77.4 kWh. The first option will be the most basic and the one that will be associated with a rear electric motor that, together with some 18-inch alloy wheels, will offer a maximum range of 429 kilometers.
The higher capacity option expands the possibilities for customers. A “Long Range” that will be offered with versions of one and two electric motors, so that its maximum approved autonomy will no longer only depend on the diameter of the rim. The 77.4 kWh battery will be associated with three versions: with rear-wheel drive and 18-inch wheels, the maximum autonomy will be 614 kilometers.
With all-wheel drive and the same tire diameter, the all-electric range is reduced to 545 kilometers, while the 18-inch all-wheel drive option offers 583 kilometers. If 20-inch wheels are added to the latter, the autonomy remains at 519 kilometers.

The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 also has an 800 V charging system, so when connected to an ultra-fast charging point, it can recover energy to cover journeys of up to 351 kilometers in just 15 minutes. An interesting option that will go on sale before the end of the year with a special launch edition, that of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 First Edition, and whose prices will be announced in the coming weeks.
