“Human Development Report 2021/22” is a study that explains how important the culture of equity is in countries like Denmark.
Like the UNAM, the INE also implemented genderless bathroom strategies.
This culture of equity and inclusion that we see with genderless bathrooms tells us how valuable the interaction in the market has already become.
The signage no gender It is an important precedent of how important it has become in the market, to implement activities that help in this culture of inclusion, where the UNAM announced toilets genderless and its signage drew attention.
On this occasion and due to the cases in this note, we can see the lists of the most equitable countries in terms of gender equality, as listed “Human Development Report 2021/22” and where it is noted that the most equitable country is Denmark and the least equitable is Ukraine.
“According to the Gender Inequality Index (GII), Denmark was the most gender equal country in the world in 2021. The Gender Inequality Index measures the inequality of achievement between women and men in three dimensions: reproductive health, empowerment and labor market. A low GII value indicates low inequality between women and men and vice versa. Yemen was considered the country with the least gender equality that same year,” he explains. Statista exclusively for its registered users at the time of presenting the previous study on the platform.
“Neutral signage”
The UNAM unveiled the new genderless bathroom that it inaugurated at the Faculty of Medicine and the movement is an action that tells us about the changes in favor of inclusion within the institutions.ç
As part of the signage to identify these spaces, he used the figure in which one half shows a man wearing pants and the other a woman wearing half of her body part of a skirt, thus alluding to the fusion of both gender.
If we look at the cases of the UNAM, the argument for opening these neutral spaces is to bet on community integration and from this, favor plurality.
It is important to see the exercise under which actions are implemented in the market that motivate inclusion and from this promise is that this type of spaces have been opened in various UNAM locations, as already happened with the College of Sciences and Humanities ( CCH Oriente), as well as with other educational entities such as the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters.
Like this case of inclusive actions, we have also seen activities that have attracted attention in the market for campaigns that have managed to stand out to the consumer. An example of this was given by the National Electoral Institute, when the organization inaugurated gender-free bathrooms, as part of the measure it adopted internally to make its facilities more inclusive.
In your ad the legend for men is shown, for the bathrooms that were originally designed for this gender, with the indication that trans people are welcome, while in the women’s, the gender indication appears and the legend that trans people are also welcome they are welcome.
After these actions, social networks were filled with comments where some users described the action as aberrational, by allowing trans people to enter, while others even accused transsexuals of being sick.
“Not even your bathrooms. It’s not like you lived there, and if yes, then you can shit in any other bathroom. I don’t agree with gender ideology, biology is very clear. But you don’t have to argue for any -”, explained a user when adding a counterpart to this debate.
