Experts say there is no evidence that homework aids learning.
The World Health Organization (WHO) works on actions that end homework for primary school students worldwide as they assume that the student who stops doing school activities at home, recovers joy in study and becomes a happy person.
Researcher Harris Cooper revealed that students better understand the work they do in the classroom, and that extracurricular tasks take time away from other activities as important in their development. For her part, Etta Kralovec, a professor at the University of Arizona, stated that “The tasks that teachers sometimes leave for our students do not really represent any benefit for them.”
And according to one study, students who spend 1 hour of their day doing homework are better students than those who spend 4 hours. Other specialists assure that the tasks affect the character of the students, especially when we talk about children, since studying should be considered an activity of enjoyment, we should be passionate about learning new things. Instead, homework annoys the child and conditions him or her not wanting to go to school, that’s why they don’t like learning.
