Ubisoft users on Stadia will not be left stranded.
Stadia arrived a few years ago with the promise of redefining the video game industry, thanks specifically to allowing us to play with the push of a button, even having such cutting-edge features as allowing us to play a video game that we had just seen a video of on YouTube, being possible by pressing a simple button that appeared at the end of the video. Unfortunately, and possibly because of its business model, this platform never took offbeing increasingly less relevant within the industry.
Due to this lack of relevance, we had been rumors about its closure for quite some time, and it is that Google itself does not have good precedents in this regard. Now Stadia has officially announced its closure, and it has done so with a movement that we did not see coming, and that is that will allow its users to request a refund of everything spent on this platform.
Still, Ubisoft, a company known especially for being the creators of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, they have announced that they are not going to stay there.
Ubisoft announces it through a tweet
If you had Ubisoft video games on Stadia, and instead of a refund you wanted to continue playing, and you don’t mind doing it on PC, you should be in luck, because as Ubisoft announced through a tweet, they are currently working on a way to bring their users to Ubisoft Connect.
While Stadia will shut down on January 18, 2023, we’re happy to share that we’re working to bring the games you own on Stadia to PC through Ubisoft Connect. We’ll have more to share regarding specific details as well as the impact for Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date.

In this same tweet, as you have seen, there is also talk of Ubisoft+ subscribers within Google Stadia, and that is that the French company was one of Google’s great workhorses with this project, even taking its subscription service to this platform. At the moment we don’t know much about this specific case, because it has simply been said that they will talk about it soonbut we can assume that they are currently working on it.
For now, if you were a Stadia user, and also had purchased Ubisoft video games, or an active Ubisoft+ subscription, you should be aware of the social media accounts of this companyin order to be able to know when it announces its solution for this problem, solution that will happen, as they have already said in the tweet, for moving these users to PC.
