According to Tom Henderson and his report for xFire, Ubisoft was planning a pre-E3 2022 presentation to prevent its announcements from being overshadowed by those of other companies, but recent world events have put those plans on hold. At its presentation, Ubisoft was going to show about 20 games, among which were Assassin’s Creed: Rift and Assassin’s Creed: Infinity.

Assassin’s Creed: Infinity was confirmed in the middle of last year, and since then Ubisoft said that the intention was to take the franchise to a new stage, turning it into a game as a service. As for Assassin’s Creed: Rift, the game first became known when Jason Schreier of Bloomberg reported that the latest expansion for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla had become its own game. Unlike the last few installments in the series, Assassin’s Creed: Rift would have a heavy focus on the stealth and its protagonist would be Basim.
Initially it was reported that Assassin’s Creed: Rift could arrive later this year, but Henderson’s sources say it would arrive during the first half of 2023 to get closer to the launch of Assassin’s Creed: Infinity, which would be until the year 2024 or 2025. Assassin’s Creed: Infinity would be the most ambitious game Ubisoft has ever made, as it would unite all the installments in the series in a game-as-a-service model developed by multiple studios, including Montreal and Quebec. Thanks to the Animus, players will be able to transport themselves to different eras, which will expand over the years.
