The video games of virtual reality have been gaining more popularity as the technology develops, but some developers have noted that it is also possible to take advantage of the VR for other types of experiences. One of these developers is Ubisoft, who develop a recreation of the incident in the cathedral of notre-dame on April 15, 2019, when an incident caused a fire of considerable damage.
The project of Notre Dame in virtual reality that is developing Ubisoft is made in association with the French film production company Pathé, and will be called Notre-Dame on Fire. In this game, players will take on the role of a Parisian firefighter trying to put an end to the Notre Dame cathedral fire, and it will be related to a docudrama of the same name that will be released in March 2022.

At the moment there are not many details that have been revealed about Notre Dame on Fire VR, but a Ubisoft representative said that it will last approximately one hour and will be an “escape game”. It seems that the objective of the game will be to escape from the fire in the Notre Dame Cathedral, putting out the fire and solving puzzles to advance.
As in any escape game, it’s a matter of puzzles and cooperating with your teammates. The idea is to make your way through the cathedral to find relics and fight the fire, because you have to save Notre Dame before the time runs out.
At the moment it is only confirmed that Notre Dame on Fire will be a Virtual Reality experience, but it has not been specified which platform it will reach. However, promotional images seem to suggest that gamers will need an HTC Pro Vive Pro 2 to enjoy the experience.

Notre Dame on Fire is expected to feature a faithful digital rendering of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, originally created for Assassin’s Creed Unity. This same cathedral was used again in 2020 with Notre-Dame de Paris: Journey Back in Time, a virtual reality experience that allowed us to explore the cathedral as it looked before the 2019 fire.
