To satisfy the millions of users regarding the protection and updating of security measures, WhatsApp recently announced that its latest system renewal is now available that will allow you to leave chat groups silently, not allowing capture Screenshots of your chat windows and decide who can and can’t see online statuses.
“We will continue to create new ways to protect your messages, and keep them as private and secure as face-to-face conversations,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed in a post on his Facebook account.
Leave groups quietly
Without a doubt, this feature was the most criticized in the world of WhatsApp. With the arrival of the unfortunate Covid-19 pandemic, the chat groups took on an ascending role that was of great help so that the mandatory social isolation imposed as a health measure was not so cruel and in this way contact between relatives and friends.
Currently in the school and work environment it is of great help, however, many are those who do not want to participate in these groups due to different problems and differences with possible members, the issue is that, not being able to leave in secret, there was no no choice but to stay on a mandatory basis.
Now with the recent update this topic expires as group members will not be notified when someone leaves the group chat. Identified as “stealth mode”, only group admins will know if someone has gone out.
Screenshot locks
It was another of the disagreements of the application, since many assure that a certain conversation that is supposed to be private, with a single screenshot without prior consent, lost all kinds of privacy and respect. For this reason, Meta adds the blocking of screenshots of temporary messages to guarantee more security and return that trust that millions of users had lost.
“We believe that WhatsApp is the safest place to have a private conversation. No other messaging service of this scale provides this level of security for its users’ messages, voicemails, video calls and chat backups,” says Ami Vora, Product Manager at Meta.
These new functions are already in force in the United Kingdom and gradually and in just a few weeks it is expected that everyone will be able to enjoy the particular virtual security measures.
