Twitter User Explains How He Gained 13,000 Followers In One Day
Something similar happened to user Jeff Craven who went from having less than 400 followers in almost 13 years to achieve 13 thousand in a single day. His secret surprised even strangers, because they are one of those things that are not planned, they just happen. Jeff Craven shared a tweet where he commented that he would explain what his secret to gaining 300 followers has beenHowever, this did not end there. The thread hung while the author decided to go to sleep. However, what he did not imagine is that, overnight, he would get a large number of followers.
This was the twwet shared by the user:
It has taken me 13 years to get 300 followers on Twitter. Here’s how I did it 🧵
— Jeff Craven (@jeffbcraven) March 14, 2022
For the user, this was a great surprise, since he commented that he did not have the app on his phone and that he could not see what was happening. Some of the users commented that “Twitter acted in mysterious ways” because sometimes many users don’t grow in followers for years and suddenly a single tweet gives them huge popularity. This was what happened, as users commented that, seeing the tweet, they did not hesitate to follow it. In fact, that tweet already has more than 200 thousand likes and 12 thousand retweets.
When the account holder realized what had happened, he decided to update his description, which now reads “used to have 300 followers. Not now”. In addition, he decided to continue his thread on “how he reached 300 followers” in an ironic way:
- Journalism teacher tells you to open a Twitter account in 2009
- Sign up, but don’t use it
- Work in casual business
- Get a media job in 2011, but don’t use it yet
- Use it again when you have a business in 2018
- Make a viral tweet about only having 300 followers
The user took the opportunity to point out that he would take advantage of his recent popularity to share research he had previously done and that, due to the number of followers he had at the time, he had been ignored. This probably says a lot about social networks and how a little push can make a message, perhaps really important to users, be transmitted in a better way.
