Despite being about to face a controversial legal battle with tycoon Elon Musk, who still doubts the viability of the famous platform to be useful to him and add more to his already extensive wealth, Twitter it keeps renewing.
The little bird’s social network has begun to test a new functionality with which users can provide additional information to their followers through publications, through moods or descriptions.
For now, only a select group of users of the social network from both the United States and Australia can make use of this new and interesting tool.
The tool will serve to “better transmit” what they are thinking when tweeting
As confirmed by a Twitter spokesman to the media TechCrunchthe platform will be testing this new feature “for a limited time” with the aim that users “can better convey” what they are doing through their tweets:
“The function allows you to add a status to the tweets to provide more context to your followers”, said this spokesperson, who has indicated that thanks to this option you can add information on “reflections made in the shower or opinions on how they feel on Mondays”.
This medium also indicates that the states, as well as the emoji that accompanies them, appear below the username and apply exclusively to the tweet established with the tool.
Being in an initial phase, for the moment, it does not seem that the states are moderated or that they can be managed. It should also be noted that the application researcher, Jane Manchun Wong, discovered this feature at the end of last April.
Nevertheless, TechCrunch explains that in this latest test users can only add context to specific tweets and that they can click on these statuses to discover other posts with that same status.
