- Twitter’s Super Follows seeks content creators to monetize their tweets
- So far only available in the United States and Canada
- Also, for now, only a few creators have the Super Follows feature available in their profiles.
Twitter is launching a new feature called Super Follows, which aims to help its creators generate income through their tweets. However, it will not be for everyone.
Content creators have taken over social media like never before; this, to a large extent, as a result of the emergence of the pandemic and its inevitable confinement last year.
It is, in these times, a new era in social networks, which have become true virtual shopping centers, growing every day and adding more content in various presentations.
Among the entire range of platforms and sites that already have an important history in terms of working with content creators, it seems that only Twitter was missing to fully enter a market that experiences a greater increase every day.
Now, Twitter arrives with Super Follows, a new function that will allow its creators to monetize their tweets and, with it, generate income. It is, without a doubt, one of the most expected functions of the application.
For this, Twitter will be implementing three modalities or three monthly payment subscriptions, each one, of course, with a specific price: US $ 2.99, US $ 4.99 and US $ 9.99 . The more followers pay, the more exclusive content they can have. That is what it is all about.
However, as the social network has mentioned, this new monetization modality is currently only available to a smaller set of creators from countries such as the United States and Canada, and also only for iOS users.
Now, the initiative is intended to take to other regions and, in the same way, Android users are also included in this expansion. But, for the moment, they will have to wait.

On the other hand, Super Follows will be a very limited function and only a few accounts will be able to use it to publish tweets only for subscribers who pay their monthly fee. As we already mentioned, the more the “common” user pays, the more access to exclusive tweets from the creator they will have.
In other words, what is sought with this new function is to pay to see tweets, although Twitter announced that Super Follows will soon add more dynamics to make the subscription plan more attractive. Sure, who would pay to see tweets?
So far, a few creators have this feature available in their accounts, such as the sports analyst @ KingJosiah54, the writer @myeshachou, the makeup artist @MakeupForWOC, and the tarot reader @TarotByBronx.
If the idea is just to pay to view tweets, it doesn’t really look very attractive to non-content creators. So why launch it? Will it have a real benefit for creators? We will see that with the passage of time, although, at first glance, it generates many doubts about it,
Twitter, however, trusts that Internet users will soon want to pay to see exclusive tweets, because, in reality, that is the bet, although everything indicates that it will not be offering, at the beginning, content that is really worth paying for.
We will see if with this initiative Twitter takes a step forward in its intention to enter the market of content creators and that, on the contrary, it is not a case similar to what happened with Fleets, a function that, in less than a year, He disappeared.
Now, an important question would be: is Twitter an attractive platform for content creators? We will also discover that
