Twitter Blue, the subscription service that allows, among other things, to have the verification badge, lands in Spain. The blue bird company has also activated this function in Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal, thus expanding the hitherto limited scope of the subscription.
The advantages of Twitter Blue are mainly the following:
- Edit tweets up to 5 times within 30 minutes.
- Set an NFT as a profile image.
- Upload videos to 1080p.
- Get a blue verified badge that, until recently, was limited to publicly known accounts.
In the future, the company promises, too, that tweets posted by Twitter Blue subscribers will appear at the top both in searches and in mentions and replies. They will also see 50% fewer ads on the timeline and will be able to post longer videos.
The price of Twitter Blue in Spain is 8 euros per month. However, the company offers the possibility of making an annual payment with a saving of 12% compared to the monthly. The cost of the latter is 84 euros each year.
To get the blue verification badge, Twitter clarifies that you need to have a verified phone number. Otherwise, even if Twitter Blue subscription is paid, such icon will not be activated. This measure was implemented to avoid massive identity thefts like those that occurred during the first days that the service was operational.
At the moment, Twitter Blue is only available on the web version, although it is likely that it will also reach the iOS and Android applications in the next few hours. The unknown in this sense is what price the subscription will show on these platforms, since both Google and Apple charge a commission for the payments that Elon Musk’s company subsequently passes on to its customers.
