After the Mixer fiasco, the only alternative Microsoft had left was partner with Facebook, Google or Amazon. Among the three giants, the best choice was Twitch, which is already an undisputed leader in content broadcasting. Now Xbox users can easily retransmit the content of our console through Twitch.
Twitch succeeds Mixer to stream content
Amazon’s platform, Twitch is integrated into the Xbox operating system. As often happens, this comes first to Xbox Insiders who will be able to try it out right now. This new feature “Console Live Streaming” now available in the latest Xbox previews for Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings, and will allow Xbox gamers stream games on Twitch without having to install the Twitch app for Xbox consoles.
As we already indicated, this function is exactly the same as when we transmitted the games to Mixer. You will be able to access Live Streaming from the tab “Capture and share” in the Xbox Guide, where a new option will appear “Live broadcast”. To begin, users must first link our Microsoft account with this service, then a button will appear “Broadcast now” to start streaming games on this platform.
This allows Microsoft close the gap with Sony that already had quick access to both YouTube and Twitch on the Play Station 4 and also on Play Station 5. We hope that this way the broadcasts from Xbox Series S | X will be greater and much easier for anyone who wants to share their skills on the Amazon platform. We will always remember Mixer’s service, a pity that he failed, but he had very difficult rivals in front of him. Competing with Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch was hard work and it couldn’t offer an alternative.
