In the Decoesfera newsroom we are very clear about the innovative role offered by the wallpapers and graphic work when it comes to completely transforming a space without the need to get involved in construction. For this reason, we are always on the deco radar looking for new collections with which to bring the walls of our houses to life.
Today, we set our goal at folytiton, an Aragonese deco firm that has some unique wallpapers, as well as peepholes, cloths and limited edition sheets. The reason? Their designs have been created by a selection of artists. Art and deco, united to dress our walls.
The idea is born from Clement HuertaCEO of Implaser, an Aragonese graphic industry that has decided to bring out its most artistic side with a new line of business to support a sector that has been damaged in recent years, such as creators, combining design, creativity and decoration.
In this way, Agnes Darocaresponsible for Creative Management at Folytiton, explains that at Folytiton they want to “work hand in hand with the selected authors. We propose to make a series of works, and with them, work to take them to the chosen supports that best adapt to the work, and to the necessary quality so that they are at the height of the selection of authors”.
The result is a wide catalog of wallpapers, graphic work and peepholes (round drawings) with which to give new life to the walls of our houses.
Its name, Folytiton, is inspired by the Folie Titon, a villa built in 1673 as a country house by Miximilien Titon. Originally located on Rue de Montreuil, it formed a magnificent dwelling whose ceilings had been painted by Charles de la Fosse. Purchased in 1765 by Jean-Baptiste Reveillon (wallpaper retailer), turned it into a wallpaper factory, and as early as 1784 it received the name “Royal Factory of Painted Paper”.
The gardens of his factory were the stage from which the first hot air balloon, designed by the Montgolfier brothers, rose for the first time on October 19, 1783.
Later, on April 28, 1789, the factory was burned down by the workers due to the reduction of wages, in what would be a prelude to the French Revolution. Thus, Réveillon went into exile in England, after selling his business to the firm Jacquemart & Bénard.
While they continue to expand their portfolio of authors, at the moment we can find work in different formats by artists such as the iconic Pepe Cerdá, Óscar Sanmartin (creator of the set design for the TVE series Águila Roja, among many other works), Isidro Ferrer with her spectacular luminescent works, the versatile Lina Vila, or Agnes Daroca herself, among many other authors.
ecological wallpapers
In the field of wallpaper, Folytiton offers more than 30 models of wallpaper with paper and ecological inks with two options. One smooth, ideal for rooms with children or high-traffic areas, and another, with a Japanese paper-like texture and a cotton touch. Among the available models, we have been fascinated by the Poppies by Lina Vila with which we opened the cover of this article.
If you prefer something less groundbreaking, this beautiful wallpaper with an Eva Blasco design has caught our attention thanks to those ideal shades to give a refreshing atmosphere to our bedroom.
This paper by Enrique Flores with a hugs print has also seemed interesting to us, at this time when it seems that we are all looking to color our homes to better cope with the negative news that floats in our environment.
Antonio Santolaya signs the illustrations that animate this paper, drawing inspiration from the Etruscan culture.
This autumn bird wallpaper is fresh, modern and fun. And it bears the signature of Sabina Blasco.
Peepholes, art for specific areas
One of the items that most differentiates this firm is the sale of peepholes. Small works that do not have a common format and that help to give a different touch to any space, or to fill those empty spaces at home or in an office.
This peephole, with an illustration by Agnes Daroca, has a diameter of 100 cm.
This other peephole with a house located on a shell, is by Óscar Sanmartin.
If you prefer something more colorful, there are also peepholes like this starry night, with an illustration by Vicky de Sus.
cloths
Decorating a part of a wall can be much more powerful than decorating an entire wall. And those cloths seek to fill those gaps. Among them, we are undoubtedly left with those designed by the Aragonese artist Pepe Cerdá.
If you prefer something with less color, this cloth by Óscar Sanmartin representing a bridge might suit you.
Graphic work
In addition to wallpapers, cloths and peepholes, at Folytiton they have also created works with industrial materials that have led their creators to achieve new and surprising results. Photoluminescence, experimental serigraphs, volumes with varnish… Works to give a new look to any home or business, with the guarantee of knowing that they are limited editions and that it will be difficult to find them anywhere other than your home.
Among the luminescent graphic work (which glows at night) there are examples like this one, by Miguel Ángel Arteaga.
In the catalog there are also works like this, of digital printing with selected volume in specific areas signed by Antonia Santolaya.
Or this silkscreen by David Adiego that mixes a piano on a background with the sea.
