Fans of gore and torture caused by Jigsaw will be happy for this news. And it is that a few weeks after starting its filming, it has been confirmed (via One Take News) that Tobin Bell will be back in the tenth film of Sawwhich does not yet have an official title or a confirmed plot.
The intention of Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures is revitalize the franchiseas has happened with other exponents of the genre, for example, scream. But they also seek to capture everything that has fascinated fans of the previous movies, like the clever tricks of the serial killer named Jigsaw.
In a press release, Mark Burg and Oren Koules, producers of the franchise, shared their happiness at the return of such an important piece of the saga:
“What a thrill to be able to meet with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise such a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this new movie.”
In the saga, Bell plays John Kramer, a man with terminal cancer. Using Jigsaw as a puppet, he kidnaps people who, according to him, do not value life or have what it takes to continue in it. To punish them, he puts them through a series of physical tortures that only one can live through. The “games”, as he calls them, will reveal to him who has the necessary instincts to survive.
According to some rumours, the new film by Saw will develop between the events of the first two films. Therefore, the appearance of Bell would be necessary and justified, in addition, it is believed that it will be told from Kramer’s point of view. The last film of the saga, Spiral: The game of fear continues, starred Chris Rock. For many it was the perfect opportunity for a reboot for the saga. Unfortunately, between the pandemic and mixed reviews, the film was a flop and was forgotten.
The new movie of Sawwith Tobin Bell leading the cast, will hit theaters on October 27, 2023, just in time for the upcoming Halloween season. The address will be provided by Kevin Greuter, an old acquaintance of the franchise. Greuter directed Saw VI, Saw: The Final Chapter and edited the first five installments.
John Joseph Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the cinema up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movies.
