Caesar’s legacy will continue… Since before Disney acquired Fox, there was already talk of expanding the franchise in the world dominated by our primate brothers and fortunately the plans prevail, now under the leadership of 20th Century Studios. This week, the project took leaps and bounds by revealing more names in the cast, as well as the official title of this fourth installment of the reboot Planet of the Apes and a first look that you can see below.
Just last month, the production house announced that the leading role will fall to the actor Owen Teague (It: Chapter 2). He will play the lead ape in the new film, thus taking the place that used to belong to Andy Serkis; Let’s remember that the veteran actor gave life to the beloved leader Caesar in the previous trilogy, through the advanced technology of the motion capture.
This week, they officially joined the cast. Freya Allen Y Peter Macon in roles yet to be announced. Allen achieved worldwide fame in 2019 thanks to her portrayal of Ciri in the series The Witcher from Netflix. For his part, Macon has worked on the comedy shows Family Guy Y The Orvillecreated by Seth MacFarlane.
The fourth installment of the saga will be titled Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes —kingdom of the planet of the apes— and will take place several years after the events of Planet of the Apes: War (2017). directs Wes Bell (maze runner) from a screenplay co-written by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison.

Sadly, there is still no exact date for the release of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. But while we wait, don’t forget that all the films in the franchise —including the 1968 original— are available in the Star Plus Latin America catalogue.
