What are you made of?
Today, the kilos that the scale registers are not as important as the body composition. Now the main thing that should interest you are your percentages of fat and muscle. That is why, based on recent studies and tips from experts, we tell you how to modify these percentages, make a great impression when you take your shirt off, and especially, radically improve your health.
Starting with the Body Mass Index (BMI), you will be able to define if you are considerably overweight that you should attack. The formula is simple: weight / (height squared) . According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a BMI equal to or greater than 25 determines overweight, and one equal to or greater than 30 determines obesity.
The body mass index is an indicator to define the overweight and obesity of entire populations, it does not apply to individual cases, like yours.
Just over half of men with healthy body weight have an insane percentage of body fat of 20 percent or more, say specialists from the Mayo Clinic in the United States. So you know how much fat you have hidden, get on a TANITA scale or go to a nutritionist or trainer to measure it .
“In a week of intense exercise and a balanced diet, you can lose one kilo of fat and increase one of muscle,” says Mexican nutritionist Mariana Camarena. Your weight will be the same, but don’t get frustrated! You’re doing pretty well. The mirror and your pants will know how to reward you. And your girl too.
