The territory of Chile is filled with pride by having a representative among the 100 most people influencers of artificial intelligence (AI) in 2023, according to Time magazine. The name of the Chilean engineer, Cristóbal Valenzuela, co-founder of the Runway application, appears on the list of the prestigious media.
The name of Cristóbal Valenzuela, a commercial engineer born in Santiago, appears alongside prominent figures such as Sam Altmanexalted by the developments carried out by OpenAI and Elon Musk, which is always in anything technology.
Runway uses artificial intelligence to generate videos from text. The platform allows users to create audiovisual materials quickly and easily, without the need for video editing knowledge.
The platform has been used by a variety of companies and organizations, including Disney, Coca-Cola and Harvard University. Even according to the review Radio DNA“Everything Everywhere all an Once,” winner of the 2022 Oscar, used Runway in part of the film’s production.
In 2022, Runway was named one of the top 100 startups in Latin America by Forbes. And now Cristóbal Valenzuela, a 33-year-old Chilean, receives this individual recognition for his work in this technological advance.

“Valenzuela is co-founder and CEO of Runway, one of the most prominent AI video generation companies. Since its founding in Brooklyn in 2018, Runway has raised more than $200 million.” wrote the Time magazine in their featured section of each of their chosen ones.
“We are heading towards a world in which all the media and entertainment content you consume will be generated by artificial intelligence,” said Cristóbal Valenzuela in the interview with Time.
