Let’s hope it doesn’t occur to Disney to buy Dragon Ball too…
What would happen if Disney Pixar acquired the rights to Dragon Ball? After the resounding failure that was the movie “Evolution” a couple of years ago, it would seem unlikely that a new adaptation of Akira Toriyama’s manga for a Western audience from Fox or Disney, but this artist has decided to show his version of Goku as a Disney Pixar character.
As we can see below, 3D character artist Van Rose (@vaanrose) took to Twitter to share his project with fans of Dragon Ball and the entertainment giant’s movies. It was there that they published his take on the CG character for Kid Goku, and the piece is honestly awesome. In his art, she brings to life a character that looks like it’s straight out of Big Hero 6:

With his cane in hand, Goku looks like a normal boy in these shorts with his blue gi and t-shirt. Of course, the martial artist still has his gravity-defying hair, but this 3D design makes him look incredibly normal, a bit more natural than DB Evolution. The look combines with chubby cheeks and expressive eyes as you can see. And in the end, the 3D CG design shows what Goku would look like if Disney Pixar acquired the rights to Dragon Ball.
Of course, this style is very different from the one Dragon Ball uses. In the past, Kid Goku was brought to life with hand-drawn animation and cell shading.. The franchise recently embraced CG animation, as Dragon Ball Super used it quite a bit. Of course, the IP took the plunge this year when Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero debuted and was done entirely in CG. Despite the radical change, the art style of the film was praised by fans around the world, and this piece of art proves that Goku can be done justice in any kind of style.
Goku in the Western world of Marvel and Disney
Dragon Ball fans know Goku inside out and inside out at this point. After decades on the scene, it seems the Saiyan has done it all with fans as they’ve watched him grow from a boy to a grandfather. Of course, the anime fan is always looking for ways to reinvent the hero, and artists have given Goku makeovers over and over again. But now, this tribute is going viral for giving the hero a Disney Pixar centric look. But, this is not the first time this has happened, Marvel has also paid tribute to this hero.
Sunfire has the powerful ability to harness solar radiation and use it to generate superheated plasma, as well as flight, and has used his vast powers to take down major enemies, often operating alone but also working surprisingly well in a team, regardless of their strength. at- times aloof personality. The beautiful piece of fanart seen below was illustrated by Matty Z and shows Sunfire performing the well-known Kamehameha attack from Dragon Ball Z..

Matty drew Sunfire in his gorgeous X-Men redesign, created by talented artists Pepe Larraz, and perfectly recast the powerful mutant as a member of Goku’s Super Saiyan race. In Dragon Ball, the Kamehameha, named after the first ruler of the Kingdom of Hawaii, is the first energy move seen in the manga and is a signature move of the main character Goku. The message with which he shares this fanart is full of emotion:Sunfire’s Kamehameha! I loved @PepeLarraz’s redesigns I had to draw him.
There are dozens of variations on the original Kamehameha technique, and while the energy used in the powerful blast is often depicted as a blue and white color, Goku’s normal Kamehameha has been depicted as yellow in the Dragon Ball Z anime and was shown his Kamehameha 10x. with a red glow. Making this version follow the rules that Akira Toriyama has raised over the years.
